Services Provided:

Autism Center For Education Program:

ACE is committed to delivering the highest quality of services that adhere to the “best practices” supported by research within the field of ABA and its application to early intervention for children on the autism spectrum. We provide services to children between the ages of 24 months and 10 years of age. While our primary focus is children on the autism spectrum, we appreciate that the principles of ABA can be applied to successfully develop new skills and reduce challenging behaviors for many children.

The following are services provided by the Autism Center for Education:

  • Initial Assessments
  • Program Design, Consultation & Supervision
  • Behavior Therapist Training
  • Parent & Family Training
  • School District Consultation & Training
  • Functional Behavioral Assessment
  • Workshop Services for Non-Local Families

Currently all of ACE’s services are delivered in the home setting. While ACE does not provide families with behavior therapists, we are happy to assist families in hiring their own therapist to be trained and supervised by an ACE consultant.

The following handouts provide a more detailed description of ACE’s services and answer some Frequently Asked Questions.

As an applied behavior analysis (ABA) program we will use behavior analytic principles to reduce your child’s challenging behaviors and teach new replacement skills. Behaviors identified as deficient are targeted for skill acquisition and excessive behaviors will be targeted for reduction. As such, the Autism Center for Education Program has both a skill acquisition and behavior management component. Each program is designed to meet your child’s unique repertoire of behavioral deficits and excesses. Skill Acquisition targets are selected from several domains in which children on the autism spectrum typically present with delays. Skills selected for acquisition start with the earliest skills to emerge in typical development and continue to progress in developmental order.

Skill domains targeted for acquisition in the Autism Center for Education curriculum:

  • Early Learning Skills
  • Language / Verbal Behavior
  • Play Skills
  • Motor Skills
  • Self-Help Skills
  • Social Skills
  • Theory of Mind
  • Executive Functioning
  • Academic Skills

The provided handout includes a more detailed description of each curriculum area.
